Two slices of cooked French toast rest on a white plate, with a blurred black frying pan visible in the background. The toast looks golden brown and slightly crisp.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • The Bread: 1 loaf Cinnamon Raisin Bread (Thick-cut preferred)
  • The Fry: 3–4 tbsp Bacon Up
  • The Custard Base:
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 1/2 Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • The Finish: Freshly whipped cream

Instructions

  • WASH YOUR DAMN HANDS!!
  • Whisk the Custard: In a wide, shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is fully dissolved
  • The Bacon Up Sizzle: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat
  • Add a generous scoop of Bacon Up
  • Let it melt until it’s shimmering—this is the secret to a savory, golden crust that butter just can't match
  • The Soak: Quickly dip a slice of Cinnamon Raisin Bread into the custard
  • Give it about 5–10 seconds per side
  • You want it fully saturated but sturdy enough to lift
  • The Sear: Place the soaked bread into the hot Bacon Up
  • Fry for 2–3 minutes per side
  • The natural sugars in the raisins and bread will caramelize with the bacon fat into a dark, crispy "gold" coating
  • The Dollop: Plate the hot slices immediately and top with a massive cloud of fresh whipped cream
  • The contrast of the hot, smoky toast and the cold, sweet cream is the ultimate experience
