Easy French Toast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 casserole dish full of cubed bread
  • French bread brioche, or challah all work great
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Grease a casserole dish and fill it evenly with the cubed bread.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, heavy cream, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Slowly pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, making sure everything is evenly coated. Lightly press the bread down if needed so it can absorb the mixture.
  • Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes, or until the casserole is golden brown and the center is set.
  • Top with fresh fruit and a generous dusting of powdered sugar. Serve warm and enjoy.
