Fireball Candied Bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 LB Thick Cut Bacon

Fireball Glaze

  • 1/2 C Fireball Whiskey or similar
  • 1/3 C Hot Honey
  • 1 TBSP Brown Sugar
  • 1 TBSP Soy Sauce
  • 1 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 TBSP Corn Starch + 1 TBSP water for thickening slurry

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325F
  • Combine all glaze ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Once boiled reduce to low heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add cornstarch and water mixture to thicken, remove from heat when glaze is thick to your liking. It'll thicken up very quickly, in about 30 seconds, stir continuously.
  • Lay out bacon on wire rack so they are in a single-layer, however not touching.
  • Cover the top side of the bacon in the fireball glaze evenly so that no bare spots are showing.
  • Place in oven to bake for 45-50 minutes - keep an eye on them so they don't burn starting at the 30 minute mark.
