Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pan sausage
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (depending on how thick you like it)
  • About 1 1/2 cups whole milk (adjust for desired consistency)
  • Heath Riles Everyday Rub (season to taste)

Instructions

  • In a cast iron skillet over medium heat, cook your ground sausage until it’s fully browned
  • Don’t drain the grease—that’s where the flavor lives
  • Sprinkle in your flour and stir it into the sausage and grease
  • Let it cook for a couple minutes, stirring often, until it starts to turn a light golden color
  • This step gets rid of that raw flour taste
  • Slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly to keep everything smooth
  • As it heats up, the gravy will start to thicken
  • Let it simmer for a few minutes, stirring often, until it reaches your desired thickness
  • If it gets too thick, just add a splash more milk
  • Season it up with Heath Riles Everyday Rub to taste
  • Serve hot over biscuits and enjoy every bite
