Juicy Lucy Burger: The Best Stuffed Burger Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped cooked bacon
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 tbsp Heifer Dust or beef seasoning
  • Hamburger buns

Instructions

  • Portion the ground beef into 1/4 lb patties and flatten them as thin as possible using parchment paper
  • Add cheese and bacon to the center of one patty
  • Season the patty
  • Place another 1/4 lb patty on top and seal the edges together using parchment paper
  • Press and shape to ensure there are no gaps
  • Lightly season the outside of the burgers
  • Heat the grill to medium heat
  • Place burgers on the grill and press down for good contact
  • Close the lid and smoke for 3–4 minutes
  • Open the lid, flip the burgers, and press again for contact
  • Close the lid and continue cooking, flipping a couple times until burgers reach about 140°F
  • Toast the buns with a little butter
