Ingredients & Tools You'll Need
To make this dish, you’ll need a few straightforward ingredients that you might already have in your pantry. We’re talking about two premade salmon patties, fettuccine pasta, and a couple of creamy components like cream cheese and cream of poblano (or whatever soup you prefer). Trust me, I go heavy on the cheese here because, why not?
You’ll also need some basic kitchen tools, including a cast iron skillet for that perfect sear on the salmon patties. A whisk will come in handy for mixing up the sauce, and don’t forget a pot for boiling your pasta. Gather everything up, and you’ll be ready to cook!
How To Make It
Making this Salmon Pattie Alfredo Pasta is as easy as pie. This recipe flows smoothly from frying the patties to whipping up the sauce and noodles. Just follow along, and you’ll have a plate of deliciousness ready in no time.
Preparation
First things first, let’s get everything prepped. Heat your cast iron skillet on medium-high with a touch of bacon grease-because everything’s better with bacon, right? Season your salmon patties with Heath Riles Garlic Butter Rub on one side and the Everyday Rub on the other. While the skillet heats, chop up some minced onion to add a savory kick to your sauce later.
Once your skillet is hot, throw those salmon patties in and cook them until they’re golden brown-about four minutes per side should do the trick. While they’re sizzling away, get your pot of water boiling for the fettuccine. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
Cooking
Now, let’s make that creamy sauce. In the same skillet you used for the salmon, add the butter and minced onion. Sauté them until the onions are soft and fragrant, which should take a few minutes. From there, stir in the heavy whipping cream, cream cheese, and cream of poblano, whisking until everything is melted and well combined. This is where most recipes go wrong: they forget to take the time to really blend the flavors together, but trust me, you want to whisk it until it’s silky smooth.
Next, toss your drained pasta into the skillet, allowing it to soak up that rich sauce. Give it about five minutes, and you’ll notice the noodles absorbing all that creamy goodness. Finally, plate up your pasta, top it with those gorgeous salmon patties, and garnish with a sprinkle of parsley for that pop of color. If you’re feeling fancy, add a slice of lemon on the side and drizzle some juice over the patties to brighten up the flavors!
Serving & Variations
When it comes to serving, this dish is a showstopper on its own, but you can definitely amp it up. A fresh side salad or some garlic bread pairs perfectly with this Salmon Pattie Alfredo Pasta. If you want to add some veggies, consider tossing in some steamed broccoli or spinach right before serving.
A common consensus among home cooks is that this dish is even better the next day, so don’t hesitate to make a double batch! For storage, simply keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. When you’re ready to enjoy it again, just reheat it gently on the stovetop, adding a splash of cream to revive that sauce.
