Trust me, once you try this, you’ll be hooked – it’s the ultimate comfort food that’s perfect for gatherings or just a cozy night in.

I love how simple this recipe is, yet it delivers big on flavor. You can whip it up for game day, movie night, or even as a fun project with the kids in the kitchen. Plus, the gooey cheese pull you get when you dip those warm pretzels is pure magic.

Seriously, these pretzels will disappear faster than a cold beer in July!

Let me show you how to make this awesome treat. It’s easier than you might think, and I promise you’ll feel like a kitchen rockstar when you pull it off!

Why You'll Love This Recipe

First off, who doesn’t love homemade pretzels? They have that perfect combination of a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy inside. When you dunk them in that mustard cheese sauce, it’s like a flavor explosion in your mouth.

The blend of cheddar and mustard adds that tangy punch that keeps you coming back for more.

What really makes this recipe shine is how versatile it is. You can tweak the mustard to match your taste – whether you like it sweet, spicy, or somewhere in between. Plus, they’re great for sharing, but fair warning – you might want to hide a few for yourself!

Ingredients & Tools You'll Need

Alright, let’s break down what you need to get started. For this recipe, we’re using a tube of pizza crust, which makes life so much easier. No need to fuss with making dough from scratch – just roll it out and slice it up.

I also go heavy on the cheese because, let’s be real, cheese makes everything better.

You’ll also need some basic kitchen staples like butter, flour, and milk for that creamy cheese sauce. A stick of butter for dipping is a must, along with flaky salt to finish it off. And don’t forget your favorite mustard – I used a sweet heat variety, but you can choose whatever tickles your fancy.

This recipe is all about personalizing it to your liking!

How To Make It

Now that we have our ingredients ready, let’s dive into the cooking part. We’ll start with some prep work and then get into the magic of cooking. This is where the fun happens, and I can already smell the deliciousness in the air!

Preparation

First, let’s get our pizza dough prepped. Slice it into 8-10 pieces – you can make them as big or small as you want. Pro tip: spraying your knife with cooking spray will help prevent the dough from sticking, making your life a whole lot easier.

Once that’s done, we’ll move on to the boiling process.

In a large pot, bring 6 cups of water and 1/4 cup of baking soda to a boil. This is the step that gives those pretzels their signature texture. When the water is bubbling, carefully submerge each piece of dough for about a minute.

After that, place them on a greased cookie sheet and get ready to bake.

Cooking

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit while the dough is boiling. Once you’ve got all the pretzel pieces on the cookie sheet, pop them in the oven for 15 minutes. You’ll want to keep an eye on them as they bake – they should turn a beautiful golden brown.

While they’re baking, it’s time to whip up that creamy cheese sauce. Start by melting some butter in a saucepan, then mix in flour and let it cook for a minute while stirring continuously. Gradually add in your two cups of milk, and keep stirring until it thickens.

That’s when the magic happens! Once it’s nice and thick, stir in the cheddar, mustard, and seasoning. Let it simmer on low and stir often until everything is melted and warmed through.

When the pretzels come out of the oven, dip them in melted butter and sprinkle with flaky salt. They should look golden, crispy, and absolutely irresistible!

Serving & Variations

Now that your Pretzels and Mustard Cheese are ready, it’s time to dig in! Serve them warm with that cheesy dipping sauce on the side, and watch them disappear. They pair perfectly with a cold drink, whether it’s soda, beer, or even a fun mocktail.

Feeling adventurous? You can switch up the cheeses or add some spicy elements like jalapeños or hot sauce to the cheese sauce. Storing leftovers (if there are any) is easy too – just keep them in an airtight container in the fridge.

You can reheat them in the oven to get that crispy texture back!

Wrapping Up

There you have it! A delicious, fun recipe that’s bound to be a hit at any gathering or cozy night at home. Grab your favorite mustard and get ready for some serious flavor.

Trust me, once you start making these, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner!
